| 'Right
to Rise' Protestors Disrupt GOP Debate |
|
| Last nights GOP debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, the setting for the latest Republican Presidential debate, was temporarily thrown into chaos following staged outbursts from a local group demanding rights for the undead. This followed a question to all four remaining candidates asking them to clarify their positions on the treatment of those infected and quarantined with the mortosis virus. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was rounding off his allotted time, stressing that the United Nations 'Universal Code of Conduct' was the 'best practice' but a much broader set of ethics should be drafted, with the needs of virus sufferers and their families considered, that and a greater respect for those having risen. |

"Our Lord Jesus Christ rose and so they too are resurrected." claim protestors |
| As candidates are distracted, Huckabee tries to bring calm | |
| As if on cue, shouting demonstrators
rose within the auditorium. Loud theatrics using the employment of whistles
and chanting of 'Gods warriors - right to die, right to rise' temporarily
sent the debate into disarray. This lasted for several minutes, prompting
an unscheduled break in the debate whilst order was restored. It was
only when Secret Service agents assigned to the candidates and California
State Police entered the disturbance that the protestors voices were
finally suppressed. 'Right to rise' is a California based group, gaining traction and national attention through protests such as the one last night here in Simi Valley. Their referendum, posted on their website, calls for greater rights for those quarantined due to infection. Rights to see their family, their lawyers, their friends. It also calls for "celebration not neutralization of the undead. They have risen through choice. Our Lord Jesus Christ rose and so they too are resurrected. These are our holiest of people. Gods warriors, sent here to reclaim earth for the blessed." Several protestors were arrested and detained. |
