Hospital Massacre Leaves
17 Dead

Miami , Florida – (AP)
Posted: Nov. 19th, 2007

Tragedy unfolded in Miami last night after an errant undead entered a hospital ward and killed helpless patients and staff.

Today, Miami, Authorities were left shaking their heads and wondering how a single male undead could have been allowed access to roam free amongst an entire ward of patients too sick to be evacuated with the rest of Miami's population during the current mandatory quarantine and evacuation.

Reports are still unclear and many areas are left with more questions than answers. However, it does seem that a single male, identified as emergency worker Luke Evan Benson (31) was admitted to the emergency ward of Miami's Kingstanding Medical Hospital Late last night. According to medical records he was admitted with what was classed as 'trauma and lacerations to the shoulder and neck. Cause: 'animal bite'.

Benson was in the process of being tested for the necro-mortosis virus when he succumbed to the infection. He went into coronary shock and died soon afterwards. It is at this point that details are vague. A hospital worker, who wished to remain unidentified, stated that Benson should have then been taken to the mortuary on the lower level and secured until the results of the mortosis tests were available. . However, this procedure was not followed due to a staff shortage. Benson was left for possibly 2 hours before a night warden could be located to apply precautionary restraints and take Benson to the mortuary level.

First victim:
It is clear that sometime within this time frame, Benson rose. Little is known of the events that followed. Apparently however, the night warden, Javier Guiterrez (43) was Bensons first victim. His body was so savagely attacked by Benson that he did not reanimate.

Benson then proceeded to enter the night ward and wandered from room to room, preying upon sleeping and otherwise helpless patients. Many became infected themselves, But their physical conditions prevented them from becoming ambulatory.

It was the frantic sounding of bedside alarms that eventually alerted the guards assigned to protect Kingstanding Medical Hospital from any undead menace or looters. They located Benson as he wandered the hospital corridors and re-killed him onsite. Sadly, 16 patients also had to be neutralized.

Governor Charlie Crist offered his condolences to the families of the victims today and pledged that a full internal investigation would "be swift and concise."

Families of the victims are in shock, but also outraged at the lack of adherence to strict governmental protocol. A hospital spokesperson could not be reached for comment at this time.
