ZWN has received a report from local field reporter Roy Lindlau of a possible 'floater' stranded and apparently carried by the tide through to 'Duck' in North Carolina.

Apparently a single floater has been recovered on the shore of North
Carolina, washed up after the weekends brush with Tropical Storm Gabrielle.

Local authorities were called to assist in the rescue of a
man caught by a tourist while surf fishing outside of Duck. According to the tourist,
Jerome Nichols, "I was confused by what I was looking at. The man
was just laying there moaning. I thought he had been shark attacked and
because of the smell, believed he also was suffering from gangrene."

A still visibly shaken Nichols continued "He was missing a leg, and moaning something fierce. I called on my cell phone to get some help from the local police and after a few question they seemed to get very concerned. Although the man was missing a leg,
there was no blood flowing, and the longer I looked at him more things
didn't line up. He had gaping, I mean fist sized holes, in his back. The
911 operator told me to stay away from the man and someone would be
there shortly.”

Local police authorities released the following statement "Earlier today, the body of an as yet unidentified male individual was discovered semi submerged in strong waters near Duck in Uninc Dare County. The individual is suspected of being a mortosis sufferer. His condition is currently under quarantine and review by local area health officials. Any developments will be passed onto the general public as soon as they become known.

Florida:
Meanwhile in Miami, Florida a citywide search continues for possible occupants of Tuesdays stricken fishing boat. A first set of lab tests on blood found at the abandoned vessel have proved positive for Necro-Mortosis according to Miami Dade County Path laboratory.

Beaches along the Florida coast remain closed until further notice

Florida Police have requested that the public remain vigilant and report any corpses, living or dead, that wash ashore. They have released a special hotline emergency number -
