| A 'mini' hurricane exceeding 65 knots passed through Florida's gulf coast region today. In doing so, it scuttled the hopes of an estimated 2000 small boats attempting to flee the undead infested regions of Cuba and reach the US mainland. The weather may actually have come as a welcome break to US Coast Guards. Their resources have been stretched thin over the last few days. But now with the help of newly arrived naval resources they hope to be able to re group and apply a more effective quarantine around Cuba. War
of words: Putin, who is seemingly adopting an increasingly hostile stance towards America, accused the US of "Without the backing of the UN, single handedly adopting the role of 'world Police'. Putin then continued by questioning America's motive: "Will the US stop with a quarantine? or use the opportunity to remove another political thorn from it's side?". Political
concerns: Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice fired back with "Russia has certain preferential geopolitical aspirations. This sort of comment is entirely self serving. It is nothing more than political grandstanding". Western political analysts are in agreement and recognition that contradictions and disputes can emerge in U.S.-Russian relations, but today's tone is considered unusually hostile. Weather: Related
