Infected Tourist Causes Airport Chaos
North Queensland, Australia (ZWN)--- (AP)
Posted: Dec. 8th, 2007
ZWN field reporter - Daniel Firstenberg

There was pandemonium at Cairns International Airport, North Queensland yesterday afternoon when Kenzaburo Moriami (34) a Japanese tourist died and subsequently reanimated whilst in custody at a customs and Mortosis screening check point.

Moriami was traveling with two companions (unidentified at present). He was flagged as a 'possible infected Mortosis' passenger. Shortly after being lead to customs and it's new Mortosis screening facility, he collapsed. Within minutes, and in the presence of emergency medical workers, he reanimated.

Moriami proceeded to attack the nearest customs officer, Melinda Grafton (56). Fortunately for Grafton, the reanimated corpse could not get a secure grip on her and she was able to scramble to safety.

Chaos quickly ensued with airport staff fleeing the customs holding room, and patrons scattering in all directions to evade the corpse. James Brindell (23) was returning home from and extended holiday when he was caught in the commotion. "It was a scene of mass panic" he said, "Nobody new which way to run and people were colliding and falling. I saw one small kid pushed aside with nobody trying to help him, god knows where his parents were".

Two people were infected before Airport Security were able to contain the situation, and managed to secure the hapless Kenzaburo with handcuffs. Both victims, one customs officer and a security guard have not been named and were quickly quarantined along with Moriami, by the responding Hazmat Team. Government officials refused to comment on their condition

Search for companions
A Police spokesperson told ZWN reporters that their main concern was to find the two companions of Mr Moriami, to determine whether or not they had symptoms of the Necro-Mortosis Virus. "It is imperative that we find these two individuals immediately. Due to the chaos in the airport they may have fled in fear, but we are urging them to contact us as soon as possible". Police are now examining the passenger list and airport CCTV footage to determine who the missing passengers are.
