Fox Atomic, will be the studio overseeing the production. Unfortunately, Danny Boyle ('Trainspotting') stepped aside from the director's chair for this much anticipated sequel. However, he will still produce it. The Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will take Boyle's place. The script has been penned by Rowan Joffe

The film starts six months after the Rage virus infected London. The US Army has quarantined the city. The films leading man, will be played by the relatively unknown Jeremy Renner. He is to take on the part of Sgt. Doyle, a member of a Special Forces team, charged with the responsibility of re populating London again. In the first wave of returning refugees, a family is reunited -- but one of them unwittingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever.

Shame that director, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo wasn't able to entice Cillian Murphy back, not even for a cameo. But good all rounder Robert Carlyle will fill those shoes with no worries. This is 'Begsie' from 'Trainspotting' we are talking about here. He'll just head butt any Zombies that get between him and a pint.
Catherine McCormack also stars.

Look to May 11th. 2007 for a release.

There is a teaser trailer available at:

You have to dig around a bit to find it. It's under new movie releases.- Looks pretty damn good.
