Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen delivered a strongly worded speech today. It's intent clearly to suppress any further fears of a rising undead infestation within Northern Ireland.

At his side was French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. During an after dinner speech, Mr. Brown called upon the European Unions 27 members, who meet next week in Madrid, to "solidify an initiative of unity" against future undead outbreaks. "Our objective is to reach an agreement of the 27 at the European Unions Council in October on a common approach ahead of the 2010 European Parliament elections and renewal of the European Commission." he added.

As for Ireland's own undead problem, Mr. Brown was optimistic. "The situation has stabilized" he affirmed. "At present, we feel that due to the tireless efforts of our security and emergency response services, the recent outbreak of Necro-Mortosis has been contained to a manageable level."

Further Incidents confirmed
However, ZWN has learned that at least three separate undead attacks were confirmed as 'legitimate to report'. Added to this one report of an elderly lady in the Falls Road area who, so afraid of the undead breaking into her home, barricaded herself in since the outbreak began in July. She was found Tuesday by a concerned family friend, dead from starvation.

A reported 172 cases of suspected Necro-Mortosis have been received by Belfast General Hospital. However, only 13 have so far been confirmed. A further 27 are undergoing 'continued observation' and 132 have been dismissed as false alarms or vindictive accusation.

The Government advises everyone to read and familiarize themselves with the 2007 'Code of Conduct' as signed by the UN General Assembly. Contained in the 167 page report is a clear guideline to the universal laws regarding the handling of the undead.
