'Zombie Trophy' Ring Busted In Europe |
The Undead Enforcement Administration has shut down the major ring run from Italy by two university students who allegedly sold hundreds of controlled remains, officials said yesterday. Police said 18 people have been arrested so far this week in Italy and abroad in what they called the first undead trophy bust involving an international supplier. More than 100 Web sites obtained items such as human heads, hands, feet and in one case a mounted and stuffed human head and torso through the ring, the officials said. Illegal International auction site 'ebay' has removed several such illegal items from its own site. The companies strict policy on the selling of human remains, regardless of exposure to the mortosis virus or not, are vigorously enforced. While officials said they were encouraged by the arrests they added that the problem of "rogue" Internet trophy sites is large and growing. The operation that was closed down supplied black market outlets in the US, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Hungry and Australia |
