World class 'zombie hunter' and entire team killed in Italy
Posted: 5/31/07

Bari, Italy (AP)

Tragedy struck a world class 'seek & destroy' team of 'zombie hunters ' in Italy today. Although reports are still coming in at this time, It has been confirmed that self styled 'zombie hunter' Michael 'big dog' Goodson and his crew of 5 hunters were killed this afternoon following a 'sweep and secure' mission at a series of apartment buildings in downtown Bari this morning.

Goodson's team known by their call sign 'the pack' were dispatched as part of a greater operation in co-ordination with Italian SWAT and local police. 'The pack' were contracted, professional mercenaries based in Europe.

American born Goodson was well known on the celebrity talk circuit, having appeared regularly on Oprah and the Larry King show. He was also a New York Times best selling author with the regular accounts of his hunter activities. ZWN's own 'zombie hunter' Captain 'Hawk' Heath told Zombie World News today "This is a complete shock. I know we all run this risk. It's the business we are in. But I have known this man for many years. He was a friend and cohort. Professional to the core. My heart goes out to his wife Diana."

Bari is the capital city of the province of Bari and of the Apulia region, on the Adriatic sea, in Italy. It has suffered a growing undead presence since January. As a result the city has a decreasing population of around 298, 000. Chaotic development during the 1960s and 1970s over the old suburbs has produced many high rise apartments. Several of these have become undead havens. Referred to locally as 'nests'. It is thought that Goodson's team were hired to help Bari purge the area. However, his teams services never came cheap. It was not unusual for 'The pack' to charge up to $100,000 per day for a standard operation. "Think of it though" said Captain 'Hawk' "these men were among the best in the business. They risked their lives repeatedly. Even the best laid plans can go wrong. And unfortunately, it seems in this case that they did."
