Second Night of Rioting in Portugal

Rural areas of Portugal have erupted in rioting and panic following yesterday's revelation that 12 patients suffering advanced stages of Necro-Mortosis were aided in being released from a secluded Government quarantine facility in Oporto, Portugal.

Local anger reached boiling point when it was discovered that following the mysterious and unsanctioned release, several local residents of nearby Boavista were attacked and in turn infected. Sporadic rioting and looting have confounded Police efforts to track and capture or re kill the errant escapees.

The spread of reanimate attacks has been reported in areas as far as Matosinhos, where residents of a local trailer park were reportedly savaged. Police were called to neutralize a family of 4, all found to be in a state of partial reanimation.

Police have confirmed that 3 possible reanimates have been killed by local residents. Testing is underway to determine whether any of these were of the 12 hospital escapees being sought. Police have appealed with the public not to tackle anyone suspected of being a Necrosis sufferer, however, several reports suggest that 'lynch style' mobs have formed in some towns in an attempt to eradicate the problem.

Statement
In a carefully worded statement, a spokesperson for the hospital facility said "The 12 patients were delivered to us upon request from the Irish Government following the recent Belfast outbreak. They were kept in a secure wing of the hospital, in complete seclusion from all other wings. 9 of the 12 were in advanced stages of Necrosis. 2 of the 9 were in a state of partial to full reanimation. The other 3 showed early signs of Mortosis but were still functional and had command of their faculties."

"It is still unclear at this point how they became released. We are currently reviewing all security tapes and our investigation is ongoing. We apologize to the local community for the distress caused and are working closely with the authorities to bring this outbreak to a conclusion."
