It seems that the auction was offered by an Arizona man by the name of Steven
Ludlow. He is a self proclaimed 'Zombie Trophy Hunter'. He belongs to a small
syndication of similar sorts, who actually make a living by selling Zombie
paraphernalia such as the skulls listed on ebuy. During a telephone interview
with Ludlow I was able to ascertain that he also sells mounted heads, severed
hands, and once, a whole "stuffed and mounted" body, of a Zombie.
Trouble ahead
Apparently, it is not only myself who is interested in talking to Mr. Ludlow.
So to are the FBI. According to state and local laws, a person cannot profit
from the direct sale of human remains. Desecration of a corpse is strictly
illegal.
However, according to a statement released by Ludlows Lawyer, Mr. Dennis Towney,
"My client is a victim of a law that has failed to change with the times.
These people are not human anymore. They are re animators. There has to be
a cut off point. Otherwise no one would even be able to re kill one of these
unfortunates."
'Right to Die' campaigner and spokesperson Linda Anne-Luis disagrees. "How
many innocent people have to be subjected to this type of monstrous depravity.
When they walk a second time, it is because they are UN dead, not DEAD. They
still have an identity, a history, a soul"
Ludlows problems don't end there either. It seems that the relatives of these
decapitated undead are in the process of filing lawsuits against him. They
are seeking damages for 'emotional distress'.
So where do our readers stand on this issue themselves? Should the law itself
be changed to accommodate this new world we find ourselves thrust into? Or
will this nation continue to be polarized by this moral dilemma?
